Dr. Marilisa Morea will discuss her journey and roles as a psychologist and what led her to leave her dream job. Join to listen to how she ultimately started her own practice and why she loves that she took this step. In the session, Dr. Morea will also share ways that she connects with her community, how she integrated back home in Toronto, Canada, and tips on how she balances her personal and professional life.
Dr. Morea graduated from the TCSPP Clinical Psy.D. program in Chicago in 2008. Dr. Morea has been a practicing psychologist for almost 20 years in various settings offering support to clients, students, and colleagues. She enjoys engaging with her community and has been offering workshops to physicians, schools, and organizations, in hopes of dispelling the stigma related to mental illness.
She is the Founder and Clinic Director of Monarch Therapy and Wellness Centre, a Mental Health Clinic that serves all ages and presenting concerns. For 10 years, Dr. Morea served as the lead psychologist at North York General Hospital’s Children and Adolescent Mental Health Clinic, where she worked with children, adolescents and their families and offered parent training and groups.
Dr. Morea has offered featured spotlights for KidsBlogTO on children’s and teens’ mental health. She also has her own Blog on her website and on various social media platforms that provide information, insights, and support for mental wellness.
