Young Children in Care: The Importance of Early Childhood Relational Health
October 13 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am PDT
This program, when attended in it’s entirety, offers 1.0 CEs for Psychologists and 1.0 BBS California CEUs for LMFTs, LCPCs, and LSWs.
This course will provide participants with the foundational understanding to integrate best practices in child development and early childhood mental health into their clinical practice. We will discuss how children develop within the context of their primary relationships. Additionally, participants will gain an appreciation for the life-long impact of pre-natal and early life exposure to toxic stress and trauma.
Participants will also have an opportunity to consider a variety of relational experiences and roles of people who are relevant to quality relational engagement. We will conclude by considering the numerous possibilities for building resiliency to help buffer the developing nervous system against exposures to challenging and traumatic events.
