In this presentation Dr. Muneer Ali will provide an overview of pharmacogenetic (PGx) testing in Psychiatry and its potential benefits. He will cover the history and progression of PGx, and explore studies demonstrating improved medication selection and efficacy, as well as a reduction of adverse drug reactions and side effects. Dr. Ali will then discuss practical considerations for integrating pharmacogenetic testing in clinical practice, address potential challenges and limitations, and cover the importance of a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
