This program provides skills and tools to assist clinicians working with counseling clients to build, navigate, and maintain intimacy in romantic relationships. Utilizing modern research around love, attachment, and sexuality, participants will develop specific interventions for individuals to apply to their clinical practice.
The program discusses the diverse array of intimate relationships and how to build love, understanding, and trust in partnership. Participants will review and discuss different case studies, where the partnerships presented demonstrate modern, culturally diverse clients who are presenting with a sex-related (e.g., desire discrepancy) concerns . The group will discuss the intersectional factors that impact the case and the clinical skills utilized for each case.

After attending this introductory-level training, participants will be able to:
- Discuss three attachment styles in relationships that impact sexual behavior
- Identify at least three clinical skills to develop and maintain intimacy for clients
- Apply new knowledge and skills about attachment styles in relationships and sexual behavior into clinical practice

Libby Ebert, MA, ALMFT (she/her) is an Associate Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist with a specialization in sex therapy. Libby believes each obstacle is unique to every individual and their journey, and everyone has inherent strengths and skills to help them navigate those obstacles. Libby works with her clients to rediscover those skills and apply them to the specific difficulties they are facing. By incorporating multicultural and systemic oriented frameworks, Libby works to ensure each client is supported, challenged, and empowered to be their best authentic self. Libby’s clinical interests include helping clients with trauma backgrounds, consensual non monogamy and polyamory, kink and BDSM, and gender exploration. Libby is particularly passionate about working with the LGBTQ+ community and populations of color.

Target Audience: Clinicians who work with clients surrounding intimacy and relationship concerns.
Psychologists. This program, when attended in its entirety, is available for 1.5 continuing education credits. MFTs, LPCCs, and LCSWs. Course meets the qualifications for 1.5 hour of continuing education credit for MFTs, LPCCs, and/or LCSWs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. If you are licensed outside of California please check with your local licensing agency to to determine if they will accept these CEUs. The Chicago School of Professional Psychology is approved by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) to offer continuing education programming for MFTs, LPCCs, LEPs, and/or LCSWs. The Chicago School of Professional Psychology is an accredited or approved postsecondary institution that meets the requirements set forth in Sections 4980.54(f)(1), 4989.34, 4996.22(d)(1), or 4999.76(d) of the Code.
Sex Educators, Counselors, and Therapists.
