How to Study for the PEP Exam
Presented by Christopher Rossilli Psy.D., MSCP, ABMP
Recorded on Thursday, March 14th, 2024
Access provided upon registration on “My Courses” page
This presentation aims to provide an overview for students and psychologists or those en route on preparing for the psychopharmacology exam for psychologists offered by the Association of States and Provincial Psychology Boards (ASBPP). Unlike review courses for the Examination for Professional Practice or EPPP (of which there are several choices) when taking state psychology and ethics exam, formal review courses for the PEP are limited. It is, therefore, essential to understand what to expect and what resources are available, including but not limited to books, question banks, potential internet resources, PowerPoint presentations, and available informal review courses.
In this symposium, a brief review of the differences between the old version of the PEP exam and the most current version, will be presented. More psychologists will be taking the current PEP exam, with more psychopharmacology programs being offered and more states passing prescriptive authority legislation. The PEP Blueprint and domains of examination will be presented. We will address preparation strategies, mindsets, navigating studying while working, and different resources and tips that are readily available for the pursuit of passing the PEP examination. Ample time will be provided to answer questions about the material covered and strategies for passing the PEP exam.
When attended in full, this program offers 1.0 APA CEs for Psychologists.
