Recognizing the Nature and Extent of Prejudice

Numerous studies have identified the value in better understanding how prejudice and bias influence mental health in the general population. Clinicians will benefit in further enhancing their understanding of the historical (explicit racism) and contemporary (implicit racism) and their roles in perpetuating the categorization of people of color.
This training will focus on the social psychological, sociological, and psychology factors related to role of skin color and its influence on the development of one’ ethnic identity. The core focus will be on developing an enhanced knowledge base and compassionate based problem-solving approach to managing individual and group experienced related to bias and prejudice.
