Caregivers play a crucial role in preventing youth from getting caught up in the commercial sex industry, so it’s important to equip them with the necessary knowledge and skills to talk with youth. The “Raising Awareness” facilitator training is a 1 day training to teach participants how to educate parents and caregivers about commercial sexual exploitation.
Participants will learn how to facilitate the “Raising Awareness” curriculum with parents and caregivers you work with. The curriculum covers the following topics: an overview of commercial sexual exploitation, risk factors for entry into commercial sexual exploitation, the dangers of the Internet and social media, and strategies to talk with youth about commercial sexual exploitation.
