Mujeristas in Organizations — Leaders and Changemakers
$40.00
Presented by Patricia Arredondo, Ed.D.
Friday, May 9, 2025
9am-10:30am PT / 11am-12:30pm CT / 12pm-1:30pm ET
Zoom link will be sent the week of the session.
Mujerista is a feminist concept grounded in equity, affirmative thinking about “womanhood”, spirituality, and a sense of self-advocacy or personal empowerment. Historically, Latinas and women-in-general, have been socialized to lead silently, not demonstrating power and authority or even their voice. There are benefits to a collectivistic, other-centered interpersonal approach, but this socialized behavior in organizations may be a disadvantage. However, with each generation, women are earning advanced degrees, independent and self-directed. It is not easy to typecast women today because their intersecting identities go beyond gender and culture to also reflect education, positions and titles, sexual identity, and different relationship statuses. This competency-based, interactive program engages women in identifying their strengths and competencies to lead and facilitate change in organizations with confidence, supporting other women as well. Through self-assessments, dialogue, and brief lectures, participants enhance their awareness and knowledge, thereby deepening their leadership and influence.
Zoom link will be sent the week of the session.
This program, when attended in its entirety, offers 1.5 CEs for Psychologists, 1.5 IL CEUS for Counselors and Social Workers, 1.5 CA BBS CEUs for Counselors, Social Workers, and Marriage and Family Therapists, or 1.5 SHRM PDCs for Human Resource Professionals.
