Each military branch provides a unique cultural experience for service members. With the increase in mental health needs for Marines, exploration of why the mental health needs of this particular group is under represented is needed. There are several areas contributing to the concerns marines face when attempting mental health care.

This session includes information related to the history of the Marines. In addition, the prevalence of mental health concerns in the Marines is explored. Recognition of mental health concerns in Marines and the stigma associated with Marines seeking mental health help are addressed. Finally, barriers for marines seeking mental health help and resources available to Marines in need of mental health services are reviewed.

This program, when attended in its entirety, offers 1.0 APA CEs for Psychologists, 1.0 IL CEUS for Counselors and Social Workers, or 1.0 BBS California CEUs for LPCCs, LPSW, and LMFTs.
