This training will review the different levels of substance use treatment and how to make collaborative treatment intervention level decisions for your clients. We will discuss the pros and cons of the various levels of treatment and share specific case examples. We will review results from recent meta-analyses to examine what interventions are successful for what substance use disorders. Discussing the need for effective communication between various treatment providers to avoid manipulation and overlapping services. There will be a focus on what contributes to drop out rates in treatment.
The second part will include recent research on specific topics including alcohol and opioid interventions, racial and ethnic barriers to accessing treatment, medically assisted treatment, the role of significant others in treatment, ADHD and lastly, trauma with substance use interventions.
This program, when attended in its entirety, offers 1.5 CEs for Psychologists, 1.5 IL CEUS for Counselors and Social Workers, 1.5 BBS California CEUs for LPCCs, LPSWs, and LMFTs, or 1.5 NBCC Clock Hours. (*NBCC Clock Hours are available for live program attendance only.)
