Understanding ACE’s and how to prevent them is the first step to overcome it. Then, there is the therapeutic treatment for it. Children that experience ACE’s are considered at high risk and vulnerable population. This workshop will introduce ACE’s and best ways to prevent them.
Play therapy is one of the best ways to connect and build rapport with children and their caregivers and the benefits for treatment are many. The workshop covers and introduction to basic play therapy skills to the participants. Children that experience ACE’s tend to have difficulties expressing and need a safe and holding environment. Play therapy can provide that safe environment for children working in healing those hard experiences through their natural language: play and the power of the therapeutic relationship.
