The Capstone, the Forensic Competency Examination (FCE), and the Counseling Competency Examination (CCE) are the summative assignments for students in finishing the Master of Arts in their respective programs of study. The summative assessment is used to measure a student’s knowledge of assessment, diagnosing according to the DSM-5, case conceptualization, treatment planning, and self-evaluation based on an actual case from the student’s internship experience. This spotlight presentation was rated as one of the most comprehensive during the past academic year and represents performance at a level expected of a fully licensed professional counselor. The spotlight presentation will serve as an example to current students as to how best approach and present their Capstone, FCE, or CCE.
