In our current healthcare culture, nervous system adaptations to trauma become targets for intervention as independent factions. By blending exercise science physiology with psychology, we get the tools needed to treat the human system in its entirety. This presentation will address:

• Kinesiology from exercise science perspectives of anatomy, physiology (the study of the body at work and rest), and biomechanics (the study of movement patterns and mechanics of human movement).
• Endocrine system function as the “little nervous system” and the role of neurotransmitters in body psychotherapy movement interventions.
• Identify and work with postural deviations and movement misalignments using corrective exercises tied to somatic psychology principles of relationship, sense of self, and human attachment.
• Exercises to use with clients starting immediately in their practices.

Dr. Reuille-Dupont is a licensed clinical psychologist and addiction counselor. Her current integrated care clinical practice blends her training as an exercise scientist and psychologist to create individualized programs that include exercise, diet, and positive coping skills to address a variety of mental and physical health concerns. She holds a Ph.D. in Somatic Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, a Master’s Degree in Community Counseling from the University of Wisconsin – Superior, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.
