Description: Multiple social determinants of health and sociopolitical factors affect the lived experiences of undocumented individuals. They face a combination of legal, social, cultural, financial, and behavioral barriers that shape their acculturation process. For instance, undocumented individuals face a constant fear of deportation, work for employers with poor labor rights, and lack understanding of their basic human rights. A need to promote and advocate for an understanding of their challenges to improve their lives.
