Call for Presenters

The Office of Continuing Education at The Chicago School is pleased to announce the focus of our annual virtual conference:    

Current Trends in Mental Health 2024: Clinical, Ethical, and Legal Considerations.

This 2024 virtual conference will explore industry shifts within the mental health landscape and discuss topics at the forefront of the professions. By focusing on the tracks of Clinical, Ethical, and Legal considerations, conference attendees will walk away with a robust understanding of the current state of the field — and numerous CE/CEU credits!

Proposals Due: August 25, 2024

This 2024 virtual conference will explore industry shifts within the mental health landscape and discuss topics at the forefront of the professions. All topic submissions should have a Clinical, Ethical, or Legal focus and be based on current research. 

Suggested Topics:

  • Culturally competent care 
  • Trauma-informed care 
  • Holistic care 
  • Technology-enabled care 
  • Novel treatments 
  • Business models/ Payment Integrity Programs 
  • Psychological science 
  • Social science insights
  • Supervision
  • Other current trends and research in the growth of the field 

Presenters must have a demonstrated expertise in the topic of presentation. This may include any of the following:

  • Terminal degree in the field 
  • Certification in presentation topic
  • Published research on presentation topic
  • Significant field work or experience 

Students are encouraged to apply with the support of a co-presenter. 

Before submitting a proposal, please ensure you have access to the following items:

  • Program title
  • Program description (2 paragraphs – references as needed)
  • Objectives (what will participants be able to do after the session?)
  • Presenter contact information
  • Biography and CV for all presenters (headshots if available)
  • A minimum of 3 references (in APA format)

*If selected, six multiple choice quiz questions will be due by October 1st. These may be uploaded at the time of submission or once selected. 

All sessions should meet the qualifications for continuing education for one or more of the following professions and credentialing agencies: 

  • Psychologists (APA)
  • Clinical Counselors (IDFPR and CA BBS)
  • Social Workers / Clinical Social Workers (IDFPR and CA BBS)
  • Marriage and Family Therapists (CA BBS)
  • School Psychologists (NASP and ISBE)
  • Sex Educators, Therapists, and Counselors (AASECT)
  • Human Resource Professionals (SHRM)
  • Behavior Analysts (BACB)
